Senior Manager, MBOS ECUs Software

Tasks

• Lead the MBOS ECUs Software team responsible for base software, middleware, and platform software development across multiple EEA generations for zone controllers, VCPU platforms, and other ECUs in Mercedes-Benz vehicles for the China market.
• Collaborate with EEA architecture to define methodology for zone controller base software and systems across computing, communication, and power distribution domains.
• Lead vehicle ECU updates and OTA onboard development, release, and rollout for China-specific versions, and lead security technology as part of global security teams.
• Manage and advance CP AutoSAR, AP AutoSAR, complex device drivers, and real-time operating systems including Linux and QNX across the MBOS ECU product portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with ASPICE, functional safety, and cybersecurity standards.
• Build, mentor, grow, and retain a high-performing multinational engineering team.
• Drive zone controller base software, system software, middleware architecture, design, development, and delivery based on MBOS platforms.
• Drive VCPU platform software, CP AutoSAR integration, multi-OS coexistence, resource management, system isolation, and next-generation zone SOC/MPU platform software development.
• Lead OTA, update, cybersecurity technology innovation, development, and testing for MBOS products.
• Manage vehicle cybersecurity engineering and security operations across the ECU product lifecycle, including TARA, security architecture, secure boot, secure updates, HSM/TPM integration, IDPS, vSOC coordination, penetration testing, fuzz testing, and vulnerability management.
• Collaborate with headquarters, procurement, product management, suppliers, and other stakeholders on technology roadmaps and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Embedded Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
• 12+ years of embedded software or system engineering experience in the automotive industry, including 5+ years in a management or leadership role.
• Deep expertise in ECU base software, CP AutoSAR, AP AutoSAR, complex device drivers, bootloaders, and hardware abstraction layers.
• Production experience with QNX, Linux, RTOS, and POSIX-compliant operating systems.
• Experience with zone or central computing architecture, communication middleware, SOME/IP, DDS, CAN/LIN/Ethernet, SOA, OTA, and automotive cybersecurity.
• Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, CMMI, SAFe, Scrum, SDV, and next-generation EEA solutions.
• Experience building and scaling multinational engineering teams and collaborating with headquarters in Germany and international stakeholders.
• Fluent English is mandatory; German is a strong plus; native or fluent Mandarin Chinese is required.
