Who You’ll Work With

As a Sr. Engineering Manager, you will serve as the strategic technical and people leader for Nike’s Core Infrastructure Engineering Organization, which deals with enterprise firewall architecture, implementation, and operations. You will drive an engineering team that designs and deploys scalable, secure, and resilient firewall solutions across global environments, ensuring alignment with Zero Trust principles, compliance frameworks, and business continuity goals.

Who We Are Looking For

• Significant enterprise-level security acumen and experience working on Palo Alto Next Generation Firewalls.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
• 12+ years in network security engineering with a focus on enterprise firewall platforms.
• Deep expertise in Palo Alto Networks technologies and HA firewall architectures.
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols, including BGP, VRF, and MPLS, as well as wireless and SD-WAN.
• Experience with SSL decryption, DLP, Zero Trust implementations, and privacy regulations.
• Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR compliance frameworks.
• Software engineering and programming experience, preferably with a background transitioning into core network and infrastructure engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, Terraform, Jenkins, and automation.
• Experience with or strong interest in agentic or generative AI and AI/ML technologies.
• Experience with Cisco ISE and network access control systems.
• Strong people leadership experience, including performance reviews, career development, hiring, and talent retention.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence technical and executive leadership.

What You’ll Work On

• Serve as the strategic and technical lead for firewall architecture spanning next-generation firewalls, SD-WAN, and Cisco ASA platforms.
• Build automations, agents, and solutions supporting Nike’s journey toward Zero Trust networks.
• Mentor and develop team members.
• Architect and implement enterprise-wide firewall solutions using Palo Alto Networks technologies, including NGFW, Panorama, Prisma, Cortex, high availability configurations, and global policy orchestration.
• Define and execute network segmentation and identity-based access strategies integrating Cisco ISE and 802.1X protocols.
• Secure hybrid cloud environments across AWS and Azure.
• Deploy and tune IDS/IPS, URL and DNS filtering, sandboxing, and SSL/TLS decryption while balancing performance and privacy compliance.
• Develop and maintain automation pipelines using Python, Terraform, and GitHub.
• Lead root cause analysis and remediation for firewall-related incidents, including software upgrades, hardware failures, and DLP enforcement.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams to align firewall policies with enterprise security objectives and compliance mandates.
