Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
Workplaces manages the global real estate portfolio for adidas North America, including offices, showrooms, distribution centers, design, construction, canteen services, and operational maintenance. The Senior Manager, Health and Safety will manage and enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with applicable global, regional, and local regulations for the Spartanburg distribution center campus.
The role develops and implements health and safety initiatives, analyzes and manages safety risks, provides safety data analysis, and builds trust and confidence through comprehensive risk assessments and effective safety programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement written health and safety programs and ensure safe working conditions, regulatory compliance, and alignment with adidas policies and global standards.
- Review and update site programs, evaluate operational health and safety profiles, and establish proactive assessments for changes and regulatory requirements.
- Implement risk-reduction strategies covering safety standards, environmental health, ergonomics, people risk, governance, crisis management, incident investigation, risk assessment, and preventive measures.
- Conduct workplace, employee behavior, and standard operating procedure risk assessments.
- Represent corporate health and safety programs and initiatives with federal, state, and local agencies and serve as the site Health and Safety Committee representative.
- Maintain records and documentation in compliance with the local Health and Safety Management System and ISO-45001.
- Support corporate and third-party audits and continuously improve the site health and safety management system.
- Analyze safety metrics and incident trends, support incident and near-miss investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and review corrective actions.
- Develop communication plans and training materials, including new-hire training, annual training, and toolbox talks.
- Collaborate with Operations, Training, and Human Resources to ensure employees receive required training.
- Advise employees and operations on health and safety regulations, legislative trends, and legal matters.
- Ensure vendors, contractors, and third-party employees comply with company health and safety standards.
- Support emergency action plans, including major incident response, life safety, and evacuation.
- Implement and maintain health and safety software and systems for the location.
- Perform other duties and tasks supporting organizational health and safety.

Distribution Center Operations Management, Workplace Management teams, Human Resources, regulatory agencies, external vendors, the Legal Department, and other departments.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, industrial engineering, environmental management, or a related field.
- 8+ years of health and safety experience.
- Working knowledge of health and safety management systems, including ISO-45001.
- Direct experience with workers’ compensation laws.
- Extensive experience managing health and safety programs.
- People management experience preferred.
Work Arrangement
adidas offers a hybrid work policy requiring office attendance Monday through Thursday, with flexibility to work remotely on Friday. Because this role directly supports distribution center floor operations, the remote workday may vary to ensure coverage, and the role may require on-site attendance for the full work week.
