Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Android Automotive Developer to design, develop, and maintain next-generation automotive applications and platforms. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Android Automotive OS (AAOS) development, strong proficiency in Kotlin, expertise in MVVM and Clean Architecture, and experience with GitLab-based CI/CD workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Android Automotive applications and platform components.
  • Develop scalable and maintainable solutions using Kotlin and modern Android development practices.
  • Implement robust architectures using MVVM, Clean Architecture, and design patterns.
  • Integrate automotive-specific services such as Vehicle HAL, system services, and OEM platform interfaces.
  • Collaborate with System Architects, UX teams, QA, DevOps, and Product Owners.
  • Create reusable modules, libraries, and components to support multiple vehicle programs.
  • Optimize application performance, memory utilization, startup time, and stability.
  • Write unit tests, integration tests, and contribute to automation frameworks.
  • Manage source code, branching strategy, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical discussions, and architectural reviews.

Mandatory Skills

  • 4–8 years of experience in Android application or platform development.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Kotlin.
  • Experience in Android Automotive OS (AAOS) or automotive infotainment systems.
  • Strong knowledge of MVVM architecture and Clean Architecture principles.
  • Experience with GitLab, Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and merge request processes.
  • Strong understanding of Android Framework, Android SDK, Jetpack Components, and Android lifecycle management.
  • Experience with Coroutines, Flow, LiveData, ViewModel, and dependency injection using Hilt or Dagger.
  • Good understanding of REST APIs and network communication.
  • Experience in debugging, profiling, and performance optimization.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Android Framework customization.
  • Knowledge of Vehicle HAL (VHAL), AOSP, and Android System Services.
  • Experience with automotive UI/UX guidelines.
  • Familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, vehicle diagnostics, or automotive communication stacks.
  • Exposure to middleware integration and embedded systems.
  • Experience working in SAFe or Agile development environments.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, Docker, SonarQube, and automated testing frameworks.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field.
