Job Overview
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Developer to lead the migration of an on-premises application to the Azure cloud. This hands-on role involves designing, coding, implementing, and optimizing applications in the cloud. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in cloud platforms, a strong software development background, and the ability to promote best practices across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Cloud Architecture & Development: Provide technical guidance, architect and develop scalable, highly available cloud-native applications on Azure, and mentor developers through code reviews and engineering best practices.
- Automation & DevOps: Lead CI/CD pipeline design and implementation and use infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform to automate deployment, monitoring, and management.
- Performance & Optimization: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud resources for performance, cost efficiency, and reliability, including operational administration, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Prepare technical flow charts and diagrams covering roadmaps, system capabilities, and business processes, and follow MBFS processes and procedures.
- Security & Compliance: Apply security best practices and compliance standards, including security controls, IAM policies, and encryption.
- Collaboration: Work with product owners and operations teams to translate business requirements into cloud-based system designs and integrate cloud solutions into existing workflows.
Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application.
- Minimum of 10 years of overall work experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of information technology experience, with preferred experience in security and strategy.
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred. Recommended majors include information technology and computer or information science.
- Microsoft Azure certifications required.
- Eight or more years of experience with Java, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, scalable microservices, and Angular.
- At least five years of cloud engineering experience, preferably with single-page applications using micro-frontend architecture.
- Three or more years of experience with SQL, Hibernate, and REST or SOAP web services.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, and serverless architectures.
- Expertise with Terraform, GitHub Actions, and observability tools such as DataDog.
