Senior CAD Semiconductor Engineer (EDA Flow)

Mission

Define, deploy, and maintain EDA tool flows and CAD infrastructure supporting semiconductor design and verification activities across the full SoC lifecycle. Drive evaluation, benchmarking, and integration of EDA tools and associated flows to maximize productivity, reliability, and scalability.

Own the engineering infrastructure environment, including compute, storage, licensing, CI/CD, and automation, for advanced chip design workloads. Collaborate with design, verification, and physical implementation teams to ensure efficient, robust, and scalable tool usage.

Explore and integrate AI/ML-based tooling and workflows to improve engineering productivity through automation, debugging, optimization, and knowledge extraction. Act as a technical interface between engineering teams, management, and EDA vendors.

Main responsibilities

• Define, deploy, and maintain EDA flows for digital, mixed-signal, and verification activities, including simulation, synthesis, place and route, DFT, and signoff.
• Evaluate, benchmark, and qualify new EDA tools, releases, and methodologies before production deployment.
• Design and operate EDA infrastructure environments, including Linux-based compute farms, storage systems, backup and disaster recovery, and FlexLM/Flexera license servers.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks for tool installation and configuration, regression and CI/CD pipelines, resource provisioning, and monitoring.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins and GitLab CI for design and verification workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize tool usage and flows, debug tool-related issues, and improve turnaround time and efficiency.
• Maintain strong interaction with EDA vendors including Cadence, Synopsys, and Siemens EDA for support, issue resolution, roadmap alignment, licensing strategy, and capacity planning.
• Define and enforce best practices and standards for CAD usage and tool flows.
• Integrate AI-driven capabilities, including LLM-assisted scripting, AI-based log analysis, debug assistance, workflow optimization, and hybrid cloud/on-premises AI infrastructure for sensitive data.
• Support security, compliance, and reliability requirements, including ISO 27001 environments.

Technical skills

• Strong experience with full EDA flows, including simulation, synthesis, place and route, verification, and DFT.
• Experience with tools from Cadence, Synopsys, and Siemens EDA.
• Experience in tool validation, qualification, deployment, EDA licensing systems, tool versioning, release management, and regression validation.
• Good understanding of RTL design, verification flows, physical design constraints, and the relationship between tools and silicon quality and productivity.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 and DO-254 is a plus.
