Technical Skills
EDA / CAD Flow Expertise
- Strong experience with full EDA flows, including simulation, synthesis, place and route, verification, and DFT flows.
- Experience with tools from Cadence, Synopsys, and Siemens EDA (Mentor Graphics).
- Tool validation, qualification, and deployment.
- Strong experience with EDA licensing systems, including FlexLM/Flexera.
- Tool versioning, release management, and regression validation.
- Good understanding of RTL design, verification flows, and physical design constraints.
- Knowledge of ISO26262 and DO-254 is a plus.
Infrastructure and Automation
- Strong experience with Linux-based compute farms for EDA workloads.
- Distributed storage systems, CI/CD systems, scripting, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, performance optimization, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability.
- Experience with Python, Perl, Shell, and TCL.
AI / Modern Engineering Tooling
- Practical experience with AI/LLM-based tooling integration, including Copilot, OpenAI, Gemini, or Mistral.
- Experience with hybrid AI infrastructure using cloud and on-premises GPU environments.
- Applications include workflow automation, debugging assistance, knowledge retrieval, and engineering productivity optimization.
Additional skills
- Object-oriented programming concepts.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and SVN.
- DevOps practices and toolchains.
Mission
Define, deploy, and maintain EDA tool flows and CAD infrastructure supporting semiconductor design and verification activities across the full SoC lifecycle. Drive the evaluation, benchmarking, and integration of EDA tools and associated flows to maximize productivity, reliability, and scalability. Own the engineering infrastructure environment required for advanced chip design workloads and collaborate with design, verification, and physical implementation teams. Explore AI/ML-based tooling and workflows to improve engineering productivity, while balancing performance, cost, scalability, and usability.
Main Responsibilities
- Define, deploy, and maintain EDA flows for digital, mixed-signal, and verification activities.
- Evaluate, benchmark, and qualify new EDA tools, releases, and methodologies.
- Design and operate compute farms, storage systems, backup and disaster recovery systems, and FlexLM/Flexera license servers.
- Develop automation frameworks for tool installation, configuration, regression, CI/CD pipelines, resource provisioning, and monitoring.
- Implement and manage Jenkins or GitLab CI pipelines for design and verification workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize tool usage, debug tool-related issues, and improve turnaround time and efficiency.
- Work with EDA vendors on tool support, issue resolution, roadmap alignment, licensing strategy, and capacity planning.
- Define and enforce best practices and standards for CAD usage and tool flows.
- Integrate AI-driven capabilities, including LLM-assisted scripting, AI-based log analysis, debugging assistance, and workflow optimization.
- Support security, compliance, and reliability requirements, including ISO 27001 environments.
