Platform Engineering - FIP (Fast Insights Platform)
Platform Engineering designs, builds and operates the platforms application teams rely on. The Fast Insights Platform Team is driving the next generation of software development across adidas by providing enterprise LLM access, agentic coding tools, security, governance and scalable AI capabilities.
The team operates the platform for agentic workloads on AWS, providing reusable AgentCore-based building blocks, reference architectures, governance frameworks and security guardrails. This is a hands-on platform engineering role focused on the infrastructure, tooling and governance behind enterprise AI.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain expert knowledge in one or more specialisms and provide authoritative specialist advice.
- Monitor emerging technologies and assess potential impacts, threats and opportunities.
- Take end-to-end ownership of platform epics and initiatives, from requirements through solution design, implementation and operation.
- Design, code, test, document and refactor complex software using appropriate engineering standards and tools.
- Implement technical improvements for monitoring, stability, reliability and operability.
- Build and operate the platform reliably by defining and tracking SLAs and SLOs, reducing incidents and automating operational work.
- Lead peer code reviews and contribute to the technical roadmap.
- Coordinate complex delivery across teams and stakeholders.
- Mentor colleagues, onboard new team members and contribute to communities of practice.
What We Are Looking For
- College or university degree focused on IT, or equivalent education and experience.
- Seven years of IT experience with exposure to the full product development lifecycle and/or software development of REST APIs, web applications or platforms.
- Two years of experience leading complex technical initiatives, mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions across teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and proficient English.
- Strong software engineering experience using TypeScript, Python or another modern programming language.
- Hands-on experience designing and operating production services on AWS.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as AWS CDK, GitHub Actions or Terraform.
- Cloud-native experience with containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD and a major cloud provider, preferably AWS.
- Experience building platforms, internal developer tools, shared services or reusable technical capabilities.
- DevOps mindset, agile experience and the ability to lead, mentor and collaborate effectively.
Nice to Have
- Experience with the MCP protocol, including creating and securing MCP servers using gateways.
- Experience creating production AI agents with guardrails, security and observability.
- Experience with AWS Bedrock AgentCore services.
- Experience with high-performance languages such as Rust.
