Capgemini is strengthening its SAP architecture capability to support major transformation programmes across the UK Public Sector. In this role, you will help shape and deliver enterprise-scale SAP solutions supporting critical government services and national programmes.

You will operate across the full solution lifecycle, from early shaping and design through build and deployment to live service, ensuring solutions are robust, secure and aligned with client outcomes and SAP best practice.

Hybrid working: Your work will be blended across company offices, client sites and home, depending on the role, your needs and business requirements. You will be unable to work from home 100% of the time.

Your role

As an SAP Solution Architect, you will take accountability for end-to-end solution design and provide architectural leadership throughout delivery.

• Support early lifecycle activities, including solution shaping, estimates and commercial proposals.
• Produce end-to-end SAP solution architectures covering functional design, technical architecture, integration, data and security.
• Lead the design of SAP-based solutions across S/4HANA, ECC and associated SAP platforms and services.
• Advise clients on SAP best practices, deployment options and target architectures.
• Present complex solutions and architectures to broad stakeholder groups.
• Own architecture decisions and ensure adherence to governance, design standards and delivery controls.
• Work with delivery managers, functional leads and technical teams to deliver solutions into live operation.
• Manage dependencies across SAP modules, non-SAP systems and third-party products.
• Build trusted-advisor relationships with client stakeholders.
• Engage with SAP and other partners and vendors.
• Own technical risk, issue management and resolution within the solution scope.
• Contribute to Capgemini’s SAP and Architecture communities.

Your skills and experience

You will bring strong SAP architecture experience, credibility with senior stakeholders and the ability to lead delivery in complex, regulated environments. You must be able to achieve UK Government Security Check (SC) clearance.

• Experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale SAP solutions.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA PCE or On-Premise architectures, including brownfield, greenfield or hybrid transformations.
• Strong understanding of SAP functional domains such as Finance, Contract Accounting and PSCD/Utilities.
• Knowledge of SAP technical architecture, security, identity management, data management, networks, environments, transport strategy and non-functional requirements.
• Experience integrating SAP with wider enterprise ecosystems using SAP Integration Suite, APIs, middleware or event-driven approaches.
• Understanding of data migration, data quality and cutover planning.
• Experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, testing and release management.
• Experience delivering across on-premise, cloud and hybrid SAP environments, including SAP RISE awareness or experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary delivery teams and managing technical deliverables.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, decision-making and prioritisation skills.
• Commercial awareness, including proposals and time-and-materials or fixed-price contracts.

Desirable experience

• SAP RISE, SAP BTP or cloud-hosted SAP environments.
• SAP security and authorisation design.
• Large-scale SAP bids, proposals or solution shaping.
• Automation, analytics or AI-enabled services complementing SAP solutions.
• Formal design authorities or governance boards.

Security clearance

Successful appointment requires Security Check (SC) clearance. Applicants must have resided continuously in the United Kingdom for the last five years, along with meeting other eligibility criteria.
