Assess, advise, and improve workplace safety across the Nike European Logistics Campus (ELC) in partnership with Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), operations, managers, and CPBW members.
Who you’ll work with
Within the EHS team, the Safety Advisor is part of the Internal Service for Prevention and Protection at Work and reports directly to the EHS Manager. The role works with fellow safety advisors to help create a safe and healthy ELC for teammates and external partners.
The Safety Advisor collaborates closely with departments across the business, especially the Distribution Directors of the distribution centers in Ham or Laakdal. The role also partners with distribution center teams and CPBW members to support continuous improvement in safety and health.
Who we are looking for
Within the Nike ELC, Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) is looking for a Safety Advisor. This role supports the employer in creating safe, healthy working conditions for teammates and external partners, in line with Belgian Welfare Legislation.
- Safety expertise: Level 1 certification preferred, or at least three years of hands-on experience at Level 2.
- Belgian Welfare Legislation knowledge: Knowledge of, or experience with, Belgian welfare and workplace safety legislation.
- Collaboration skills: Ability to work effectively with operational teams, managers, CPBW members, and stakeholders across the business.
- Independent working style: Able to work independently, manage priorities, and connect the right partners when follow-up is needed.
- Language proficiency: Fluent in Dutch and English, with clear written and verbal communication skills.
As a plus:
- Strong knowledge of machine safety principles and how to apply them in an operational environment.
- A technical secondary school degree, ideally with experience in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Ability to assess ergonomic risks and translate findings into clear, practical improvements.
Other useful skills include facilitating discussions with diverse stakeholders, translating complex information into clear and structured reports, and occasionally supporting work outside standard office hours when operational needs require it.
What you’ll work on
- Protect the well-being of teammates and external partners by advising the employer and managers on safety and health.
- Assess workstations and distribution activities, map risks, investigate hazards where needed, and translate findings into practical advice.
- Support new installations and processes by providing managers with clear, timely, and actionable commissioning reports.
- Strengthen prevention by supporting incident and accident investigations, identifying root causes, and proposing measures that help prevent recurrence.
