Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Architect to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance web applications. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Ruby on Rails architecture, strong object-oriented programming skills, and the ability to design robust backend systems aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop scalable and maintainable web applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Lead technical discussions, solution design, and system architecture decisions.
- Build reusable, efficient, and reliable Ruby code.
- Design and optimize database schemas to support complex business processes.
- Integrate multiple data sources, APIs, and databases into a unified system.
- Ensure high performance, responsiveness, security, and scalability of applications.
- Implement automated testing platforms and unit tests.
- Mentor engineering teams and drive coding best practices and standards.
- Collaborate with Product, DevOps, QA, and UI/UX teams.
- Drive CI/CD adoption and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 15–20 years of software development experience with strong Ruby on Rails expertise.
- Experience with Ruby on Rails libraries such as RSpec and Resque.
- Strong understanding of Ruby syntax and object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience with server-side templating languages such as Liquid and Slim.
- Knowledge of Sass and basic front-end technologies including JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Familiarity with MVC architecture, ORM, RESTful APIs, and mocking frameworks.
- Experience designing scalable and distributed applications, databases, automated testing frameworks, and unit tests.
- Proficiency with Git, SVN, or Mercurial.
- Familiarity with Bundler, Rake, Bower, and similar development tools.
- Experience with continuous integration and DevOps practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Exposure to microservices architecture and Docker or Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
