Rework Technician - Assembly Final Line

Job Summary

Assists with preparation of assembly for customized orders. Checks production orders for completeness, compatibility, and accuracy. Performs modifications and repairs to large parts of vehicles.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Activates and reassembles defective parts, assemblies, or aggregates.
• Assists with preparation of assembly orders for customized sizes and checks for completeness and accuracy.
• Carries out function checks.
• Collects and monitors operation characteristics.
• Completes and ensures availability of appropriate documentation related to the production process.
• Installs hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Participates in drafting corrective measures.
• Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings.
• Performs maintenance and repairs on vans, including removing, installing, diagnosing, repairing, disassembling, and assembling parts, components, and engines.
• Performs failure analysis and repairs large parts of vehicles.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Works under broad supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• ASE certifications or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• All rework technician team members are required to maintain the qualifications set out in the reworker program, including ASE certification.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electronics, hydraulics, mechanical systems, and quality methods and concepts.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing.
• Experience employing manufacturing quality methods.
• ASE certifications: A4 – Suspensions & Steering, A5 – Brakes, A6 – Electrical/Electronic Systems, A7 – Heating & Air Conditioning, A8 – Engine Performance, and A9 – Light Vehicle Diesel Engines.
