Retail Seasonal Store Sales Associate I - adidas Vaughan Mills, 2022, Vaughan, Canada

Purpose

Assist customers in determining which products and services best fit their needs and interest them in the merchandise. Promote the sale of merchandise by meeting or exceeding productivity standards. Maintain awareness of product requirements and information, promotions, and advertising. Maintain inventory, provide customer service, and ensure accurate and complete sales transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting adidas merchandise while providing information about products, materials, technology, and functionality.
• Uphold adidas customer service standards by listening to customers’ wants and needs and providing product information.
• Drive and close sales using adidas selling techniques and the in-store AOS system where available.
• Complete customer sales transactions involving cash, credit, debit, and other payment methods.
• Maintain store appearance, process and replenish merchandise, and assist with customer service inquiries.
• Maintain knowledge of adidas products, programs, technology, promotions, and advertising.
• Support a collaborative team environment and adhere to adidas brand values and Sales Associate competencies.
• Assist with telephone duties and follow company inventory-control policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required by store management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.
• Present information effectively to customers and employees in one-on-one and small-group situations.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations and use common sense to carry out instructions.
• Use a point-of-sale system and demonstrate a basic understanding of cash-register functions and procedures.
• Exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and customer-service skills.
• Work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, statutory holidays, and overtime during peak sales periods.
• Stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
• Frequently lift or move up to 12 kg and occasionally lift or move up to 34 kg.
• Be proficient in English and French, verbally and in writing.

Qualifications

• Have or be pursuing a high school diploma or GED.
• Three to six months of retail experience is preferred.
