Quality Analyst

About the role

As a Quality Analyst, reporting into the Laboratory Manager, you’ll play a central role in carrying out various activities within our labs to support HEINEKEN UK’s products. This includes microbiological, analytical, packaging appearance and flavour analyses, as well as maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment. You’ll also contribute to the TPM journey by identifying opportunities for process and product quality improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards in all laboratory activities.
• Adhere to LabStar/ISO systems and Group Quality standards.
• Conduct sampling and analysis of raw materials, in-process beer and finished products, including microbiological, chemical, sensory and packaging assessments.
• Manage sample receipt, processing and dispatch, including coordination with external laboratories and suppliers.
• Operate and maintain yeast culturing processes.
• Maintain, calibrate and verify laboratory equipment across site and satellite laboratories.
• Use LIMS for accurate data management, reporting and trend analysis.
• Interpret results, present findings at site reviews and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
• Provide technical expertise in microbiological and analytical matters, supporting production teams and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support product or packaging investigations and conduct audits.
• Deputise for the Sensory Analyst when required.

Who we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology or a similar science qualification.
• Brewing Diploma is highly desirable.
• Prior laboratory experience with a consolidated understanding of good laboratory practices.
• Experience working in accordance with ISO 17205 or ISO 9000 standards is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of brewing and packaging processes is highly desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
