Purpose

Provide a professional and efficient Public Relations support service to the Brand Home Team and employees of Durbanville Hills.

Requirements

  • A relevant and recognized tertiary qualification in Public Relations, Hospitality Management, Tourism or Event Coordination.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently, accurately and well under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write accurately and professionally in multiple formats and with the correct amount of detail.
  • Well organised and methodical, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide a high standard of customer service to internal and external customers and work partners.
  • Retains focus and energy.
  • Takes initiative and demonstrates a positive can-do attitude.
  • Is trusted by others and able to behave professionally and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Accountabilities

Key performance areas include:

Tasting Room Duties

  • Share responsibility for consumer satisfaction of the Brand Home experience by conducting informative wine tours and tastings.
  • Present detailed cellar tours.
  • Present all pairings thoroughly.
  • Provide table service to the expected standard.
  • Maintain wine knowledge to the expected standard.
  • Perform general housekeeping.
  • Manage Brand Home stock and minimise losses.

General Administration, Procurement and Budgeting

  • Create invoices for wine orders and visits to the tasting room.
  • Manage the info@ mailbox and respond to and action all emails, or forward them to relevant parties, within 48 hours.
  • Coordinate the procurement of office supplies and consumables for the Brand Home.
  • Manage, process and dispatch online wine orders and wine orders made in the tasting room that need to be shipped.

Functions and Events

  • Assist the Functions and Events Manager with event and conferencing setup and strike, acting in a mentoring capacity.
  • Coordinate conferences and functions successfully, ensuring all role players are aware of final event details.
  • Liaise with clients to plan well-executed and seamless events.
  • Manage all phases of group bookings for the Olive Grove.
  • Build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders that deliver desired results.
  • Build effective relationships with clients and suppliers and adhere to service level agreements.
  • Communicate and behave in a way that builds credibility, trust and respect among stakeholders.

Personal Development and Teamwork

  • Take responsibility for personal development and contribute to team effectiveness.
  • Agree on personal performance goals and achieve them.
