Introduction

Coordination of all RD-related activities for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars. Capability to lead as Project Lead Development (PLE) all required development activities according to the Mercedes-Benz development standard. Safeguard the passing of relevant project milestones in terms of maturity, costs and time. Communication and coordination of tasks between the responsible engineers, model and commodity groups, commodity group leaders, and project management in China and Germany.

Tasks

Ensure the achievement of the entire RD project goals, including documentation, hardware and software availability, documentation maturity, parts maturity, and timeline.
Coordinate all RD- and OV-related activities for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars on development projects.
Lead as Project Lead Development (PLE) all required development activities according to the Mercedes-Benz development standard.
Safeguard relevant project milestones in terms of maturity, costs, and time.
Steer and lead communication and coordination of tasks between commodity group leaders, module group speakers, digital integration, vehicle functions, and cross-functional groups according to the standard project organization.
Communicate with project management and other project sub-leaders in China, Germany, and India, including teams in production, procurement, cost planning, RD, quality management, logistics, sales, and marketing.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanics, automotive engineering, or a relevant field; a master’s degree is preferred, with five years of work experience.
Experience as a project manager, commodity group leader, RD function speaker, or in a similar role.
Experience in RD, such as vehicle launches, project steering, or component, function, or system development.
Detailed understanding of the development process.
Native Chinese speaker with fluent English language skills; German language skills are beneficial.
Strong leadership ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication skills, including convincing and conflict-solving abilities.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Intercultural competence and coordination skills, including communication with various departments and hierarchy levels.
High level of responsibility, proactivity, and ability to deal with stress.
High commitment to passenger cars.
