Mercedes-Benz Vans is hiring for multiple production positions in Charleston.

Departments

• Assembly: Assemble premium vehicles at assigned workstations on a moving assembly line using hand tools, power tools, assist devices, and production fixtures.
• Body: Load metal body components into automated welding equipment to form body sub-assemblies.
• Paint: Apply sealer, sand, and use paint spray equipment to prepare vans for assembly.

Shifts

Second and third shifts. The position and shift for each candidate will be based on skills, knowledge, experience, and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Feed machines, perform setups, and operate automated and robotic welding machines.
• Monitor and set up machinery for optimal performance.
• Sand, grind, and deburr metals.
• Work with hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
• Perform quality and visual inspections of final welds.
• Assemble and fabricate metal structures according to work specifications.
• Read and interpret process diagrams and blueprints.
• Load machines safely with required parts and identify issues.
• Participate in the Continuous Improvement Program.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to stand, use hands and arms, finger, and reach for long periods.
• Ability to push, pull, squat, bend, and turn repeatedly.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move objects weighing over 35 pounds.
• Successful completion of a drug screen, background check, and pre-placement medical exam.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Valid U.S. work authorization.
• At least 18 years old.
