The Principal, Global Mobility Tax, Americas, reports directly to the Global HR Tax Compliance Director. Nike HR Services, Operations & Analytics supports more than 70,000 employees worldwide and focuses on seamless employee experience and regulatory compliance.
Who We Are Looking For
As the Principal, Global Mobility Tax, Americas, you will be an integral part of Nike’s Americas HR Services, Operations & Analytics team, driving an integrated HR agenda across the function and business.
You will help activate a comprehensive compliance program across compensation, benefits, retirement and equity programs throughout the Americas. You will use your tax expertise to guide and support global mobility tax compliance for Nike HR while helping create a proactive, sustainable model of operational risk management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Human Resources or a related field; any suitable combination of education, experience and training will be considered.
- 9–10 years of relevant work experience, including at least 7 years in Global Mobility Tax or Employment Tax.
- Experience managing expatriate tax or global mobility tax programs, including tax equalization, shadow payroll, hypothetical tax calculations and vendor oversight.
- Deep understanding of remuneration components, including cash components and benefits-in-kind.
- Experience advising business leaders, Human Resources, Payroll, Equity and Finance teams on employment tax implications.
- Experience interacting with federal, state and international tax authorities during audits, inquiries, assessments and compliance reviews.
- Ability to network, influence and use internal and external resources.
- Experience working in a matrix environment with ambitious and dotted-line reporting.
- Ability to balance business needs and compliance and present sophisticated technical information concisely.
What You Will Work On
Serve as a trusted technical tax adviser to multiple HR functional teams while developing a deep understanding of internal operating processes and systems to drive cross-functional compliance initiatives and respond to regulatory changes.
- Support the Global Mobility Tax program, including vendor management, tax return filing reviews, tax equalization calculations, tax payments and settlements for assignments and trailing income.
- Provide expatriate tax and social security expertise on complex transactions for assignees and business partners, including policy consultation and exception management.
- Govern tax technical positions on tax return filings and provide guidelines and recommendations on Global Mobility tax compliance matters.
- Assess legislative developments continuously to keep internal processes current.
