About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Packet Core Designer Engineer to support the deployment, integration, testing, migration, and software lifecycle management of Packet Core solutions, with a primary focus on Cloud Mobility Gateway (CMG) environments. The role includes onboarding, integration, troubleshooting, software upgrades, acceptance testing, and customer support during deployment and operational handover.
The successful candidate will work with project teams, customers, Technical Project Managers, Care teams, and 4LS organizations to deliver Packet Core solutions according to approved designs and Nokia best practices.
Your Tasks
- Solution Deployment & Integration: Act as a Packet Core subject matter expert specializing in CMG and CMM; deliver solutions according to approved Low-Level Designs; generate and validate instantiation templates and MOPs; deploy, configure, and integrate Packet Core nodes; and support feature activation and validation.
- Testing & Acceptance: Execute System Integration and Functional Acceptance Test Procedures, maintain ATP reports and artifacts, perform feature activation testing, support customer acceptance, and troubleshoot deployment and integration issues.
- Incident & Problem Management: Manage trouble tickets through JIRA, Salesforce, and customer ticketing platforms; perform root cause analysis; and provide post-deployment stabilization support.
- Migration Activities: Support Packet Core and service migration planning, execution, validation, and troubleshooting according to approved MOPs and customer requirements.
- Software Upgrades: Prepare upgrade MOPs and documentation, test upgrades in lab environments, create Golden MOPs, execute software upgrades of PACO nodes, and provide post-upgrade support.
- Operational Readiness & Handover: Support delivery-to-Care handovers, complete technical documentation and operational artifacts, and participate in operational readiness reviews.
- Knowledge Management & Continuous Improvement: Deliver knowledge-transfer sessions, capture lessons learned, support process improvements and JIRA workflows, assist project teams, and contribute to PACO node certifications.
- Support Activities: Provide 4-Eye support during critical activities and L2 support where agreed with the customer or delivery organization.
Your Profile
Mandatory:
- Strong experience with Nokia Packet Core solutions and expert knowledge of CMG and CMM.
- Hands-on experience deploying and integrating PACO nodes and implementing solutions from LLDs.
- Experience with system integration testing, ATP execution, feature activation testing, migration, MOP creation and validation, and software upgrades.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in Linux-based telecom environments.
- Experience with JIRA, Salesforce, and incident management platforms.
- Ability to analyze logs, traces, alarms, and performance indicators.
Preferred:
- Experience with cloud-native Packet Core deployments, Kubernetes/OpenShift, VMware-based telecom infrastructures, Nokia Core Network portfolios, CI/CD and automation tools, and telecom integration and migration projects.
- Exposure to 4G EPC and 5G Core networks.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, customer-facing, documentation, collaboration, and prioritization skills.
Experience and Education
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Telecom Core Network Integration.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with Nokia Packet Core solutions, CMM, and CMG.
- Proven experience in deployment, integration, testing, migration, and software upgrade projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
