Packaging Operator - 3rd shift

The Lagunitas Brewing Company is seeking a Packaging Operator for the 3rd shift in Petaluma, California. The role efficiently and safely operates packaging line machinery while maintaining quality assurance for craft beer cases.

Responsibilities

• Follow Lagunitas and OSHA safety standards and participate in safety meetings, audits, and the good catch program.
• Manufacture and assemble packaging components, including cartons, beer shells, cans, bottles, and kegs.
• Participate in TPM efforts, including 5S, DCS, shop-floor activities, Kaizens, and autonomous maintenance.
• Transport materials using hand lifts, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Move palletized or crated goods throughout the facility.
• Operate packaging lines and all aspects of kegging, bottling, and canning lines.
• Perform equipment and product changeovers.
• Clean and fill various types of kegs.
• Monitor quality specifications, fill levels, packaging and label aesthetics, and carbonation levels.
• Sanitize the assigned area, including manual and automated Clean In Place tasks.
• Track packaging material stock levels.
• Wear required personal protective equipment on packaging lines and the production floor.
• Assist with or lead training for newly hired team members.

Qualifications

• Ability to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Forklift experience is desired.
• At least 6 months of experience in a warehouse, production, or brewing environment.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to lift and carry 60 pounds regularly and stand, walk, lift, and bend for most of the work schedule.
• Ability to tolerate summer and winter temperatures in a production environment.

Reporting Relationship

Reports directly to the Shift Supervisor and Packaging Manager.
