Job Description

  • 5+ years’ experience as an Oracle DBA in daily operations.
  • AWS cloud operations experience with proficiency in performance tuning and scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-scale Oracle environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage Oracle database environments, including single instance and RAC, across production and non-production systems.
  • Administer and optimize AWS RDS instances for Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and related engines, including backups, monitoring, patching, and scaling.
  • Implement and manage Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data replication, migration, and synchronization between heterogeneous environments.
  • Lead database migration and modernization initiatives, including on-premises to AWS RDS transitions.
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts for database automation, monitoring, health checks, reporting, and operational tasks.
  • Perform database performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure database security, compliance, and best practices, including encryption, access control, and auditing.
  • Collaborate with application teams, cloud engineers, and DevOps teams to support CI/CD and cloud-native architectures.
  • Provide operational support, incident resolution, and root cause analysis for database-related issues.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.

Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database Administration.
  • Experience managing AWS RDS services, preferably for Oracle databases.
  • Proven expertise in Oracle GoldenGate setup, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and database operations.
  • Solid understanding of database replication, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
  • Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.

Cloud & DevOps Preferred

  • Familiarity with AWS services such as CloudWatch, IAM, S3, and VPC.
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience supporting cloud migration or modernization programs.

Nice to Have

  • Oracle or AWS certifications.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Exposure to MySQL or PostgreSQL in AWS RDS.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools and automation frameworks.
