NIKE, Inc. Air Manufacturing Innovation (Air MI) engineers, manufactures, and improves advanced footwear components, delivering Nike Air technology through state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.
Who You’ll Work With
At Air MI, you will work with engineering teams manufacturing and improving products related to Nike Air footwear. The team collaborates with specialists in development, production, costing, maintenance, and facilities.
Who We Are Looking For
As an Air MI Engineering Intern, you will assist with manufacturing-related projects that may focus on process development, machine optimization, or other related areas. You will be mentored by area-specific and cross-functional teammates and use engineering skills to implement product development or continuous improvement solutions.
What You Will Experience
In Nike’s Summer Internship Program, you will contribute to high-priority business initiatives aligned with Nike’s strategic roadmap. With guidance from senior leaders and experienced managers, you will own a scoped project designed to develop critical thinking, collaboration, and technical skills.
This is a 10-week paid internship opportunity with relocation assistance.
What You Bring
- Enrollment in an undergraduate program with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or Spring 2028
- Preferred degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Plastics, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a similar field
- Strong desire to work in a manufacturing environment
- Resume submission in PDF format
- Experience in a high-volume or high-mix manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to analyze problems, assess data, use basic math and statistics, and handle ambiguity and changing priorities
- Ability to balance multiple challenging projects simultaneously
- Comfort working hands-on
- Exposure to Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles and concepts
Location and Work Environment
This internship is located at Nike’s Air Manufacturing Innovation facility in Beaverton, Oregon. Interns should be comfortable spending most of their time working on-site in a fast-paced production setting.
