Job Description
Atos Public Safety provides solutions and services focused on public safety agencies. The Senior Network Engineer will support Atos Public Safety’s next-generation 9-1-1 solution (NG9-1-1), with an emphasis on security requirements for deploying voice solutions in the field.
Responsibilities
- Configure Cisco routers, switches, SD-WAN and VXLAN to predefined standards in a voice environment targeting 99.999% uptime.
- Participate in network planning, engineering and architecture processes.
- Produce and maintain technical and procedural documentation.
- Provide second- and third-level support for incidents and service requests.
- Deploy and configure network devices based on provided designs and standards.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot outages, schedule upgrades and collaborate on network optimization.
- Establish and enforce network security policies.
- Ensure high availability through redundancy, failover configurations and proactive maintenance.
- Coordinate activities among multiple groups to support 99.999% uptime.
- Provide on-call technical support after hours and on weekends as needed.
- Lead network-related projects from concept through deployment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and recommend network improvements.
- Implement security protocols including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS and encryption standards.
- Monitor vulnerabilities and apply patches, updates and changes to mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Required Skills and Experience
- In-depth experience with Cisco SD-WAN, Versa, Cisco ISR and ASR routing platforms, Cisco Nexus 9K switching, Cisco Catalyst switching, Cisco NG firewalls, Cisco ASA firewalls and VXLAN in IPv4 and IPv6 environments.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
- Experience with virtualized networks, VMware, Google Cloud Platform and Azure Cloud Platform.
- Understanding of NIST, CIS or NENA security standards.
- Experience managing and working with managed service providers such as Lumen Versa.
- Clear and effective oral and written English communication skills.
- At least 10 years of experience engineering, implementing and maintaining geographically dispersed networks.
- At least 5 years of network security experience, including firewalls, security tools and threat mitigation.
- Ability to advance technologies, processes and practices in the area of specialization.
- Availability to participate in an on-call schedule and work outside normal hours during planned maintenance windows.
Desirable Qualifications
- CCNP, CCIE, Security or SD-WAN certification, or equivalent experience.
- Azure, GCP or VMware certification.
- NG 9-1-1 networking or carrier-grade voice networking experience.
Compensation and Benefits
The total compensation range for this role is $80,140–$128,223 USD.
