MBSE IBM ELM Architect

We are seeking an experienced Senior IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our enterprise engineering lifecycle platform. The role partners with engineering, product management, IT, and transformation stakeholders to deliver scalable, compliant, and integrated engineering lifecycle processes aligned with ASPICE, ISO 26262, and MBSE principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the IBM ELM solution architecture roadmap aligned with business and engineering strategy.
- Lead enterprise-wide rollout, platform modernization, scaling, and process harmonization initiatives.
- Align the toolchain and architecture with MBSE, Systems Engineering, Digital Thread, and Digital Engineering initiatives.
- Design and configure ELM modules, including project areas, workflows, templates, automation scripts, and reporting dashboards.
- Manage and optimize integrations using OSLC, REST, and GraphQL.
- Establish governance models, configuration management practices, and access controls.
- Ensure compliance with engineering process frameworks and audit requirements.
- Define best practices, standards, templates, and operational guidelines.
- Partner with Engineering, QA, Compliance, IT Security, and Enterprise Architecture teams.
- Mentor technical teams, conduct capability uplift training, and provide guidance on engineering workflows.
- Support vendor management and act as the primary SME for IBM ELM escalations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Systems or Software Engineering tooling.
- 10+ years of hands-on expertise in the IBM ELM suite, including DOORS Next, EWM, ETM, GCM, and JTS.
- Experience architecting and deploying ELM in a large, multi-site global environment.
- Knowledge of model-based requirements, configuration management, change management, and version governance.
- Strong experience with JavaScript, REST APIs, OSLC, and automation scripts.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in regulated industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, Medical Devices, Defense, or Telecom.
- Hands-on experience with OSLC federation, Global Configurations, MBSE frameworks, and Eclipse-based extensions.
- Knowledge of the INCOSE SE Handbook, SAFe, ASPICE, and ISO 26262.
- Professional IBM ELM or SAFe certifications are a plus.
