Cloud Platform Engineering

Focuses on building, maintaining, and automating the infrastructure for functions and applications that support our cloud and connectivity platform.

Key responsibilities

• Independently take product design specifications and deliver well-defined design, implementation, and testable solutions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of multiple cloud environments and deployment methodologies.
• Cultivate relationships with developers and engineers across geographically diverse teams to understand infrastructure needs and deliver solutions.
• Provide mentorship and technical direction to associate team members.
• Evangelize cloud-native best practices and methodologies.
• Identify opportunities to automate processes and procedures.
• Provide scalable engineering and supportability deliverables that improve efficiency, lower risk, and reduce customer impact.
• Identify potential security and performance issues across hardware, operating environment, network, and application layers.
• Support deployment of Kubernetes infrastructure and containers hosted within cloud platforms.
• Provide technical expertise in identifying issues affecting availability and quality across the software product portfolio.

Experience & skills

• 4+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or other major cloud technologies, including administration and scripting.
• CKA certification is a plus.
• Fluency in one or more programming or scripting languages and proficiency in error analysis.
• Linux/Unix machine setup and command-line experience.
• Proficiency with Git, Terraform, Kubernetes, containers, Kubernetes internals and networking concepts.
• Proficiency with DevSecOps using ADO, GitHub, and GitLab.
• Proficiency with Python and Datadog.
• Understanding of infrastructure lifecycles, configuration management, cloud architecture, provisioning, instrumentation, logging, and troubleshooting.
• Advanced understanding of operating system components.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and excellent troubleshooting abilities.
