Job Overview
The Logistic Information Center (LIC) connects Material Planning with the logistics and production shop floor. This position coordinates, directs, monitors, implements, tracks, and reports activities related to daily production, including internal and external warehouse management and logistics service providers. The role takes immediate action to secure parts supply for production lines and works on the third shift.
Responsibilities
- Communicate production change notices and upcoming changes to business partners.
- Serve as the logistics hotline contact for material flow and incident matters.
- Control material flow to production lines and analyze inventory to secure supply.
- Coordinate actions for parts from conventional deliveries.
- Develop processes, procedures, and training support to maintain consistent inventory and ERP data.
- Manage plant parts controlling, incident reporting, and preventive actions.
- Monitor parts movements and identify trends, invoicing requirements, and budget needs.
- Coordinate logistics shop-floor activities during launch, ramp-up, and production.
- Provide management feedback on accuracy, procedure issues, and corrective actions.
- Work with system parameters such as unloading points, load carrier classes, car sets, and sequences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related Engineering field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in automotive operations or logistics, preferably material handling, shop-floor management, or production supply.
- Knowledge of logistics, order management, shop-floor management, supplier management, products, and parts.
- Ability to work scheduled hours, overtime, and weekends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated, team-oriented, proactive, and organized.
Shift
This position is currently available on third shift. Normal hours are Sunday from 8:50 p.m. to 6:05 a.m. and Monday through Thursday from 10:05 p.m. to 6:05 a.m. Hours may change based on business needs, and training may occur on first, second, or third shift.
