You will report to the Director of Engineering at Geographies & Marketplace Experiences - India Technology Center. You will work directly with a team of dedicated engineers building shared solutions and contribute technical and leadership expertise to the longer-term technical strategy.
Who We Are Looking For
NIKE is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to innovate and lead in the Digital world within Global Technology’s Geographies and Marketplace Experiences organization. The team is modernizing its product data platform and building scalable cloud applications and services for Nike teams and consumers worldwide.
- 14+ years of software development experience.
- 2+ years of people management experience leading medium to large enterprise teams within a product-based organization.
- Experience driving end-to-end project execution, including design, development, cross-team coordination, and delivery.
- Experience with distributed and cloud-based environments such as AWS, GCE, or Azure.
- Experience with microservices, domain-driven design, RESTful services, Java, JavaScript, Node.js, and Spring Boot.
- An AI-first mindset and experience using AI-powered developer tools.
- Experience with test automation, integration testing, observability, monitoring, tracing, NoSQL and relational databases.
- Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud, consumer experience platforms, digital commerce, and Order Management systems such as IBM Sterling.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a relevant subject area, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub workflows, Generative AI solutions, and full-stack engineering leadership.
What You’ll Work On
As Manager - Software Engineering, you will join the Shared Platforms Technology Engineering team within Nike’s Geographies and Marketplace Experiences domain. You will help build a high-throughput, low-latency, fault-tolerant Order Management and Consumer Service platform supporting Nike’s digital transformation and growth strategies.
- Lead a medium to large team of engineers delivering high-impact projects.
- Drive requirements gathering, solution design, development, and delivery of consumer service applications.
- Architect scalable backend systems and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
- Guide teams in coding, testing, continuous delivery, and engineering best practices.
- Optimize performance for large-scale inventory operations.
- Partner with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineering leaders on roadmaps and deliverables.
- Coach and develop team members through regular one-to-ones and constructive feedback.
- Lead full-stack solutions across frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and system integrations.
- Define application architecture, reusable patterns, and technical standards.
- Prototype, test, deploy, monitor, and operate services at scale in a full DevOps model.
- Drive engineering excellence through reviews, mentoring, observability, testing, and continuous improvement.
- Leverage Generative AI capabilities including RAG, prompt-driven workflows, MCP, and spec-driven architectures.
- Support agile practices, sprint planning, Scrum ceremonies, and continuous improvement.
