Purpose

Implement adidas’ social compliance policies, program and human rights due diligence across all in-scope T1 factories, T1 sub-contractors, and designated T2 factories within the respective countries. This includes conducting compliance monitoring activities, executing social projects for suppliers, and actively engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Programmatic Work

  • Execute Social & Environmental Affairs (SEA) policies, projects and programs in the designated countries as per the country work plan.
  • Identify supply-chain risks regarding working conditions and recommend mitigations based on legal obligations and adidas’ Workplace Standards.
  • Conduct social compliance audits and follow-up visits, and track supplier remediation plans.
  • Supervise compliance audits conducted by authorized external monitors to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Advise suppliers on remediation options, negotiate timeframes, share best practices, and help management locate necessary expertise and materials.
  • Manage and seek resolution of third-party complaints and factory worker grievances.
  • Complete supplier compliance performance evaluations, including SI-KPI and Compliance Score Cards.
  • Contribute to monthly reporting, social compliance data collection, and improvements to data integrity, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Execute activities under strategic SEA initiatives such as Worker Empowerment, Fair Compensation, and Gender Strategy.

Internal and External Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with adidas Sourcing teams and factory management to integrate social compliance requirements into business practices.
  • Provide SEA training and briefings to adidas Sourcing staff and factory management.
  • Collaborate with the SEA Program Operations team on capacity building for indirect supply-chain factories.
  • Monitor labour and health and safety legislation in designated countries and share updates with SEA leadership and Sourcing teams.

adidas Sourcing, Global Sourcing, Global Legal, Government Affairs, SEA functions, adidas subsidiaries, supplier senior management and compliance teams, worker representatives, NGOs, government departments, professional associations, industry practitioners, other brand representatives, and third parties.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience conducting in-depth social compliance, human rights due diligence, and occupational health and safety assessments.
  • Understanding of regulatory and government policy positions in key sourcing locations.
  • Ability to collaborate, facilitate, influence, negotiate, and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong project management and budget administration skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, supply-chain social compliance, sustainability, and occupational health and safety issues.
  • Experience working with industry associations and multistakeholder initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Occupational Health & Safety, Labor Law, Sustainability, Human Rights, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive manufacturing-industry experience focused on social, labour, health, safety, or environmental compliance.
  • Ability to travel locally and internationally.
