This role leads a team overseeing Inventory Control and Quality Assurance to ensure a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity. The position develops, governs, and supports inventory and quality metrics, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and supports best practices across the NAM network. It oversees system changes and monitoring to ensure compliance with FTZ standards and established procedures, while partnering cross-functionally to design and enhance supply chain solutions that support profitability, service excellence, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop plans and processes to achieve and sustain metrics around inventory accuracy, fill rates, inventory availability, and quality standards.
- Lead, coach, and develop teams across shifts and areas of responsibility.
- Communicate key tracking information to stakeholders, focusing on inventory accuracy, availability, and Quality Assurance.
- Align and monitor site Inventory and Quality Assurance metrics through dashboards and reporting, identifying deviations and initiating changes.
- Maintain inventory accuracy across KNAPP, Manhattan, and OMNI systems through monitoring, reporting, communication, and procedural awareness.
- Keep inventory control procedures current, including equipment, tools, and skills required for inventory transactions.
- Oversee and resolve escalations to ensure targets and KPIs are achieved.
- Collaborate with Distribution Leadership to enhance inventory flow and efficiency, including projects and distribution center initiatives.
- Conduct meetings with Operations on key initiatives, impact areas, and improvement needs, with measurable action items and progress tracking.
- Drive process improvement initiatives supporting service metrics and KPIs across Planning and Distribution Operations.
- Maintain OSHA safety standards and report accidents, injuries, damages, and potential safety threats.
- Collaborate with other SCM departments, particularly Reporting and Analytics, to enhance Inventory Control tools and processes.
- Support ad hoc responsibilities for Logistics operations.
Key Relationships
Interface with Distribution Directors, Finance, FTZ/Customs, and distribution supervisors and managers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of end-to-end distribution processes, with an emphasis on inventory control and quality assurance.
- Ability to manage a diverse team covering multiple functional areas and reporting lines.
- Experience overseeing approximately 845,000 square feet of 24/7 operations, 10+ internal and external staff, 12+ million units, and 200,000+ SKUs of inventory.
- Analytical and logical thinking skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of Warehouse Management Systems and interfaces, including supply chain IT systems; Manhattan is preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a large-volume distribution center environment with high unit and SKU volumes in a complex, high-speed operation.
- SAP knowledge or experience is preferred.
- Proven ability to achieve and exceed goals, objectives, and critical deadlines through effective planning and organization.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
- Understanding of querying and data analysis concepts.
Minimum Qualifications
- Four-year college or university degree; MBA is a plus, or relevant experience.
- Minimum of five years of relevant work experience and/or training.
- Fluency in English, both oral and written.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
