What You Will Work On
- Lead, mentor and develop an engineering team responsible for designing, developing and implementing physical distribution and fulfillment center solutions.
- Lead the development and implementation of physical fulfillment systems within Nike North America Logistics.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise for large-scale engineering projects.
- Design and implement engineering solutions that improve product flow and human-machine efficiency throughout the Nike North America supply chain.
- Lead cost-benefit analyses and develop capital investment proposals for distribution center design requirements.
- Coordinate requests for proposals, scopes of work and functional specifications leading to appropriation approvals.
- Work with internal project teams and material-handling equipment and robotics vendors to identify, assess, test and implement flexible, scalable solutions.
- Support system startup activities, including installation, commissioning and performance testing.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks while influencing, negotiating and communicating with internal and external partners, contractors and vendors.
- Recruit, hire, mentor and develop team members.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of relevant education, experience and training.
- Five or more years of experience in logistics engineering, manufacturing engineering or a related occupation.
- Two or more years of experience leading a successful team of engineers.
- Master’s degree in engineering, operations or a related field preferred.
- Technical leadership experience on large-scale engineering projects, including management of material-handling equipment vendors, budgets, schedules and functional, volume and user acceptance testing.
- Experience with automated material-handling equipment, conveyance, automated sortation, case-level ASRS, shuttle systems, automated packaging, goods-to-person picking and robotics systems preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean process design, analytical data validation and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of PLC and control systems preferred.
- Experience with simulation software, Smartsheet or AutoCAD is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
