Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
Execute tactical buying of low, mid and high value items within the given thresholds, including supplier identification, negotiation and supplier selection. Deliver sourcing results that contribute to team targets while ensuring service level agreements with the business are met. Support procurement automation by seeking opportunities to increase catalogue coverage and manage vendor creation in alignment with internal processes and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze mid-value tactical buys and facilitate high-value tactical buy execution with the responsible category manager.
- Conduct sourcing projects, including negotiation and supplier selection, and respond to suppliers regarding commercial or system-related questions.
- Conduct eSourcing events in Ariba.
- Follow up on technical evaluations with internal stakeholders to ensure timely tendering.
- Execute negotiation, supplier selection, and determine purchase order terms and conditions.
- Initiate order signature processes and follow up on distribution to suppliers based on country requirements.
- Support tail spend reduction and channeling spend through strategic suppliers and channels.
- Analyze tactical buying activities and provide quantitative and qualitative feedback to Category Managers on recurring buys and opportunities for standardization and automation.
- Execute RfQs for potential catalogue items, including contracting based on standard contract templates.
- Support automated buying channel introductions by facilitating interaction between suppliers and Content Specialists.
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of sourcing execution strategies, contract management, and procure-to-pay processes.
- Experience in IT, professional services, marketing, facility management, or transport, logistics and warehousing is highly desirable.
- Ability to analyze specifications, influence demand, analyze problems, and make decisions.
- Knowledge of selected categories, category strategy development, compliance management, analytics, supplier management, and project management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact independently with stakeholders.
- Action-oriented, solution-minded team player with a high degree of self-management.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Fluent spoken and written English; an additional language is to be defined.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in business, economics, finance, procurement, or legal studies, or comparable professional education.
- At least 3 years of general business experience, preferably in procurement within a medium-sized or large organization.
- Basic experience in supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting is required; purchase order administration alone is not sufficient.
