Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
A key player in Product Development & Sourcing (PD&S), driving the vision to be the most agile, competitive, innovative, and sustainable PD&S organization in the industry. The role supports a sustainable supply chain through comprehensive sustainability management and oversees external disclosure and reporting on environmental matters. It ensures disclosures are accurate, regulatory-compliant, and aligned with industry frameworks such as CSRDDD and CDP.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and delivery of external environmental disclosures, including annual sustainability reports, Brand to Zero, CDP, and regulatory filings.
- Ensure alignment with key reporting frameworks and sustainability standards.
- Serve as a key contact for ESG-related reporting inquiries.
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs from Sourcing, Sustainability, Legal, and Communications.
- Develop clear narratives that translate environmental performance into meaningful insights.
- Ensure environmental disclosures meet legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
- Establish internal controls and documentation processes for auditability and assurance readiness.
- Identify reporting and validation gaps and enhance processes where needed.
- Align reporting with corporate strategy and brand positioning, benchmarking performance against industry practices.
- Support forward-looking disclosures, targets, transition plans, and risk and opportunity narratives.
- Develop communication materials that ensure consistent sustainability messaging across external platforms.
- Ensure sourcing operations comply with adidas’ Responsible Sourcing & Purchasing Policy, adidas standards, and legal requirements.
- Role model leadership that fosters diversity, equity, inclusion, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Relationships
PD&S teams including Costing, Sustainability & Sourcing Strategy, and Sourcing/Material Operations; Investor Relations; Corporate Internal Audit; Global Legal; Social & Environmental Affairs; and external stakeholders such as external auditors.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
- University degree in Environmental Engineering, Management, Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum five years of experience in environment and sustainability, data reporting, supply chain, and/or the sustainability sector.
- Experience in ESG-related reporting and external disclosure.
