Applications are invited for the position of Maintenance Planner, based at the Adam Tas Manufacturing plant within the Packaging Department in Cape Town, South Africa.

Key Performance Areas

  • Maintain PMPM schedules, master data and task lists on SAP.
  • Plan task scope, duration, spares, equipment, availability and internal and external resources for routine maintenance and project tasks.
  • Compile and distribute annual shutdown plans and chair planning meetings.
  • Monitor adherence to the annual shutdown plan and evaluate completed tasks.
  • Control and plan outstanding tasks, including work arising books, PMPM scheduling and projects.
  • Provide technical support to the maintenance foreman.
  • Ensure planned maintenance tasks keep equipment reliable and in good condition.
  • Deal with contractors and suppliers regarding on-site repairs and projects.
  • Manage employees to ensure successful delivery of requirements.

Experience and Skills

  • NQF 4 technical qualification with a completed mechanical or electrical trade test certificate.
  • Three years' experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Two years' experience in physical asset management systems.
  • Maintenance Planning qualification would be advantageous.
  • Experience in SAP PM systems and maintenance planning.
  • Technical experience in a bottling or packaging environment would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office, MS Projects, SAP PM and SAP MM.
  • Innovative, analytical and proactive approach.
  • Good organisation and administration skills.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organise resources and effectively delegate tasks to the maintenance team.
  • Strong knowledge of asset care principles, including asset care plans, planning and scheduling, material management and information management.
