Logistics Internship - Planning

Job Overview

This position will assist the Logistics Planning team with logistics-relevant activities at Mercedes-Benz Vans. The intern will observe, support, and learn critical processes under the direct guidance of a professional specialist or manager while contributing to production logistics.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate processes and develop ways to improve them
• Optimize material flow
• Troubleshoot issues and develop countermeasures and solutions
• Collaborate with the team on root cause analysis and create 8Ds
• Attend meetings and document them through meeting minutes
• Collaborate in team activities
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Graduated within the past 12 months or currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in logistics or a related engineering field
• Experience in logistics, supply chain management, and/or supplier quality is a plus
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Visio; Power BI is a plus
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work proficiently in a multicultural environment
• Desire for continuous development and learning
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
• Spanish and/or German language skills are a plus
• Specific areas of interest include logistics, procurement, order management, supplier development, and supplier quality
• Must be able to work full-time at the plant

Preferred Requirements

• Currently enrolled in university, in a gap year between bachelor's and master's degrees, or a recent graduate
• At least three semesters of study in a relevant field
• Available for a minimum of six months

Additional Details

• Hourly pay rate of $20.00 for the internship program
• Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC does not offer assisted living or a relocation package for this assignment
