About Atos/Eviden

Eviden is a company within the worldwide operating Atos Group and a global leader in data-driven, trustworthy and sustainable digital transformation. Eviden Austria develops innovative, highly available, safety-critical systems for critical infrastructure, energy supply and the public sector.

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on technical Team Lead to drive development of a next-generation, mission-critical communications platform. You will lead an agile team building horizontally scalable, low-latency and fault-tolerant services while integrating AI-assisted and agentic development workflows safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship and code reviews.
  • Champion AI-assisted coding tools and agentic development workflows with appropriate quality guardrails.
  • Design highly available, horizontally scalable, cloud-native services optimized for 99.999% uptime.
  • Build resilient event-driven systems using high-throughput messaging such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Architect event-sourced services and CQRS-style read/write models.
  • Drive security-by-design, including encryption, key management and authentication.
  • Maintain high code-quality standards in Go, C++, Java or C#.
  • Oversee containerization, orchestration and high-performance service communication.
  • Optimize distributed services for low latency, high concurrency and sub-second response times.
  • Collaborate with Product, QA and DevOps teams on CI/CD and delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of software engineering experience, including 2 years in technical leadership or team leadership.
  • At least 5 years building enterprise-grade systems in Go, C++, Java or C#, with Go strongly preferred.
  • Experience designing horizontally scalable, event-driven distributed systems.
  • Practical experience with event sourcing, CQRS, deterministic state machines or replay-based recovery.
  • Production experience with Kubernetes or Docker.
  • Knowledge of fault tolerance, circuit breaking, load balancing, replication, applied cryptography, TLS/mTLS and secure-by-design principles.
  • Strong REST API and asynchronous event-schema design skills using OpenAPI or AsyncAPI.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Spec-driven development and compliance-driven verification.
  • LLM-backed developer tools or autonomous coding agents.
  • 3GPP, ETSI, MCx or FRMCS telecommunications standards.
  • Real-time media streaming or high-concurrency network programming.
  • Hybrid, on-premises or private cloud environments and Terraform.
  • Experience with critical infrastructure, telecom-grade routing or public safety applications.

Why Join Us

  • Solve complex distributed-systems and high-reliability engineering problems.
  • Pioneer agentic development workflows in production.
  • Build software for secure, mission-critical deployments used by international clients.
  • Work in an innovation-driven culture focused on clean architecture, tooling and continuous learning.

Annual salary is around €90,000 gross per year, with the actual target salary determined according to market rates, qualifications and experience.
