Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

This hourly position supports the operations leadership team by contributing to labor allocation, leading meetings, assigning job duties, coaching for success, creating a safe and collaborative work environment, and driving process improvement. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and close collaboration with department supervisors to monitor workflows, manage dwells, and drive overall shift performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a supervisor to lead a team of up to 50 hourly associates.
  • Follow and role-model standard operating procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Reward and recognize performance.
  • Train and coach associates to achieve operational goals and service levels.
  • Mentor and develop teammates for current and future career opportunities.
  • Develop and share best practices.
  • Create a positive team environment that encourages process-improvement feedback and customer focus.
  • Use warehouse tools, including RF handheld units and computer kiosks, to update transactions in the warehouse management system and log activities in the labor management module.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within a large group.
  • Positive and enthusiastic approach.
  • Strong knowledge of distribution center operations, storage methods, and material flow.
  • Performance- and metrics-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, Word, and working knowledge of warehouse management systems.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to stand or walk; use their fingers, hands, and arms; lift, push, and pull for up to 12 hours per day; work in a warehouse environment; operate powered industrial equipment as required; and reliably attend scheduled hours. The role may require lifting and carrying boxes weighing up to 40 pounds, bending, twisting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of related distribution experience and/or training.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
