Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
This hourly position supports the operations leadership team by contributing to labor allocation, leading meetings, assigning job duties, coaching for success, creating a safe and collaborative work environment, and driving process improvement. This leader will act as a cultural ambassador who views the business holistically. The role is highly technical and requires strong problem-solving skills. Leads work closely with department supervisors to monitor workflows, manage dwells, and drive overall shift performance.
Shift
Back Half Night, Thursday-Saturday, 5pm-5am.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with supervisors and operational and support staff to meet daily SLA goals.
- Follow and model all standard operating procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve warehouse operational issues, escalating to senior management and support staff when appropriate.
- Analyze operational data and Warehouse Management Systems reporting to recognize trends in order and product flow.
- Develop and maintain a safe work environment.
- Reward and recognize performance.
- Train and coach associates to achieve operational goals and service levels.
- Mentor and develop teammates for current and future career opportunities.
- Develop and share best practices.
- Create a positive team environment that encourages insights and feedback, process improvement, adaptability, and customer satisfaction.
- Use warehouse tools, including radio-frequency handheld units and computer kiosks, to update WMS transactions and log activities in the labor management module.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
- Excel, Outlook, Word, and working knowledge of WMS principles.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate within a large group of coworkers.
- Positive and enthusiastic approach.
- Strong knowledge of distribution center operations, including storage methods and material flow.
- Performance- and metrics-driven mindset.
Physical Requirements
The employee is regularly required to talk or hear; sit, stand, or walk; and use fingers, hands, and arms to feel, handle, grip, grasp, lift, push, and pull for up to twelve hours per day. The employee must be able to work in a warehouse environment and reliably attend scheduled hours. The role may require bending, twisting, climbing, balancing, lifting and carrying boxes weighing up to 40 pounds, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of related distribution experience and/or training.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
