Essential Functions

  • Support digitalization and automation of the trailer storage yard on-site at MBUSI, including using vision systems to track freight movement.
  • Convert data pulled from the trailer yard into useful metrics.
  • Troubleshoot exception cases where automated processes break down.
  • Help implement AI-based process automation to streamline invoice auditing.
  • Work with the transportation team to report expenses and forecast future spending.
  • Develop a business plan to source and onboard a Transportation Management System.

Other Regular Daily Tasks

  • Record and report the previous day's operational targets.
  • Support projects related to inbound domestic and international transportation.
  • Track ocean containers for detention and demurrage and coordinate their return to port.
  • Work closely with the Material Planning team to prioritize inbound deliveries.
  • Analyze incoming invoices for accuracy and statistics.
  • Prepare regular reports on carbon emissions from the overall freight network.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance/Controlling, or a related area, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Necessary skills:

  • Create and maintain Power BI dashboards.
  • Microsoft Office applications.
  • Collection and analysis of data.
  • Clear written and oral communication.
  • Understanding of intermodal freight.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in university or in a gap year between a Bachelor's and Master's degree.
  • Studies outside the United States; applications from students currently studying in the United States are not accepted.
  • At least three semesters of study in a relevant field.
  • Available for a minimum of six months.

  • Paid internship with an hourly rate of $18.
