Internship in Supplier Quality - Focus Commodity Seats (International Student)

Tasks
Mercedes-Benz is hiring an intern to support supplier quality activities focused on the seats commodity at Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
- Support ramp-up of model year vehicles at seat supplier Lear from Production Trials (PT1-3) to Start of Production (SOP).
- Drive quality-related open topic lists to closure, create management summaries, and report project progress.
- Coordinate samples, including timing tracking for Product Validation (PV) samples and shipping samples.
- Support Supplier Quality Engineers in the Interior department with daily and project tasks.
- Improve overall product quality through smaller projects, such as improving seat protective foil.
Other Regular Daily Tasks
- Support meetings with German counterparts from Research and Development and the supplier.
- Create and follow up on key performance indicators and open topics.
- Prepare reports for the supplier quality team, including Start extracts and PIA overviews.
Qualifications
Applicants must be students in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related area, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote.
- Knowledge of Mercedes quality and development processes and tools, including START and PIA.
- Currently enrolled at a university or in a gap year between a Bachelor's and Master's degree.
- Studies must be outside the United States.
- At least three semesters of study in a relevant field.
- Availability for a minimum of six months.
Internship Details and Benefits
- Paid internship with an hourly rate of $18.
- Preferred start date: January 2027.
