Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. is hiring an international student intern to support Supplier Quality, Capacity Management and Procurement activities at its Tuscaloosa, Alabama facility.

Essential functions

  • Support supplier industrialization activities during new vehicle launches.
  • Monitor supplier readiness and milestone achievement throughout the development process.
  • Assist with supplier performance tracking and KPI reporting.
  • Participate in supplier risk assessments and follow-up activities.
  • Support preparation of management presentations and executive summaries.
  • Support development and improvement of digital reporting and dashboard tools.

Other regular daily tasks

  • Update supplier readiness and project tracking reports.
  • Prepare meeting minutes and action item follow-up.
  • Support Quality engineers with day-to-day tasks.
  • Support data collection and reporting for management reviews.
  • Participate in cross-functional project meetings and workshops.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Necessary skills and certifications:

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Project management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of quality tools, including 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, and FMEA.
  • Power BI or data visualization experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in university or in a gap year between a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree.
  • Studies outside the U.S.; applications from students currently studying in the U.S. are not accepted.
  • Minimum of three semesters of study in a relevant field.
  • Availability for a minimum of six months.

Internship details and benefits

  • Preferred start date: January 2027.
  • Paid internship with an hourly rate of $18.
  • Coverage of visa costs.
