Internship in Supplier Quality Engineering for Body in White (International Student)

Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. is seeking an international student intern to support the Body in White Supplier Quality team at its Tuscaloosa, Alabama location.
The intern will support supplier quality activities for new vehicle launches, project management, reporting, workshops, KPI tracking, training materials, and data and system maintenance. The internship is paid at an hourly rate of $18 and includes visa cost coverage and a $700 housing bonus.
Essential Functions
- Gather feedback and prepare reports, presentations for management meetings, and standardization efforts.
- Represent the team in cross-functional project meetings related to Supplier Quality for new vehicle launches.
- Assist with projects to steer the maturity level of parts, including color evaluations.
- Plan and organize supplier and internal workshops related to model years and new vehicle launches.
- Track standard process KPIs related to project management for model year and new vehicle launches.
- Support development of training materials for systems, reporting applications, and onboarding processes.
- Take on additional projects with independent responsibilities and present to various management levels.
- Maintain data and systems.
- Support the team with creation of standard reports.
Qualifications
Applicants must be students in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related area, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to create reports and PowerPoint presentations.
- Ability to analyze and summarize data.
Preferred skills include experience with Power BI, project management experience, and material and manufacturing knowledge.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in university or in a gap year between a Bachelor's and Master's degree.
- Studies outside the United States; applications from students currently studying in the United States are not accepted.
- At least three semesters of study in a relevant field.
- Availability for a minimum of six months.
The preferred start date is January 2027.
