Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. is hiring an intern for the Productivity Development department at its Tuscaloosa, Alabama site. This is a paid internship supporting productivity, reporting, continuous improvement, project management, and process digitalization across planning, development, and production.
MBUSI manufactures luxury SUV models, including electric vehicles, and produces high-performance lithium-ion batteries at its Alabama campuses. The company promotes positive team culture, teamwork, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Essential Functions
- Report KPIs and analyze performance gaps for metrics including Hours per Vehicle, repair, and scrap.
- Streamline data visualization using tools such as Power BI dashboards.
- Analyze monthly actuals, forecasts, and target deviations.
- Perform quantitative analysis for continuous improvement projects.
- Support reporting and the preparation and follow-up of meetings.
- Coordinate appointments and workshops with planning, development, and production areas.
- Participate in implementing and further developing project management methods.
- Support the MO/CTPC Department with continuous improvement projects, administrative tasks, and the digitalization of processes and reporting.
Other Regular Daily Tasks
- Work with cross-functional teams on ad hoc projects.
- Prepare presentations to support management decision-making processes.
Qualifications
Education, experience, and necessary skills must all be met to qualify.
- Currently studying Finance/Controlling, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Project management skills.
- Confident oral and written English and German skills.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work proficiently in a multicultural environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled at a university or in a gap year between a Bachelor's and Master's degree.
- Studying outside the United States; applications from students currently studying in the United States are not accepted.
- At least three semesters of study in a relevant field.
- Available for six months.
Internship Details
- Preferred start date: January 2027.
- Paid internship with an hourly rate of $18.
- Visa costs covered.
- $700 housing bonus.
