Internship in Plant Project Lead (International Student)

Mercedes-Benz is hiring an international student for an internship in the Plant Project Lead function at Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
The internship supports the production of luxury SUVs and electric vehicles and offers the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams across advanced automotive manufacturing facilities.
Essential Functions
- Participate in a new vehicle project within the plant project lead function.
- Control and coordinate critical, cross-divisional topics with production areas including body shop, paint shop, assembly, logistics, and quality.
- Support reporting and the preparation and follow-up of meetings.
- Coordinate appointments and workshops with planning, development, and production teams.
- Participate in implementing and further developing project management methods.
- Support projects transitioning into the plant phase.
Other Regular Daily Tasks
- Work directly with key personnel to understand project concepts, objectives, and approaches.
- Work with cross-functional teams on ad hoc projects.
Qualifications
Applicants must be students in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or a related area, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe.
- Confident written and spoken German and English skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled at a university or in a gap year between a bachelor's and master's degree.
- Studies must be outside the United States; applications from students currently studying in the United States are not accepted.
- At least three semesters of study in a relevant field.
- Availability for a minimum of six months.
