Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. (MBUSI) is hiring an international student intern to support the Future Systems Landscape 2.0 project at its Alabama manufacturing operations. This is a paid internship.
MBUSI manufactures luxury SUVs, including electric vehicles, in Tuscaloosa County and produces lithium-ion batteries at its Bibb County campus. Essential Functions
- Support project management for a large-scale IT systems enhancement project.
- Manage and organize day-to-day project needs, project structure, timelines, and due dates.
- Support process documentation in a database and translate German process steps.
- Analyze transit times and propose improvements.
- Analyze historical data to understand trends and propose data-driven changes.
- Create visual dashboards for global supply chain insights.
- Develop metrics to track global logistics performance.
- Develop a risk management framework for customs compliance.
- Identify and implement cost savings in international transport.
Other Regular Daily Tasks
- Attend daily team meetings.
- Support the Warehouse Administration team.
- Coordinate project meetings.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fluent in English and German.
- Project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience with BIC Process Design and SAP Signavio.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in university or in a gap year between a bachelor’s and master’s degree.
- Studies outside the United States; applications from students currently studying in the United States are not accepted.
- At least three semesters of study in a relevant field.
- Availability for a minimum of six months.
Internship Details
- Preferred start date: January 2027.
- Paid internship with an hourly rate of $18.
- Visa costs covered.
- $700 housing bonus.
