Internship in Automotive Electronic Engineering (International Student)

Tasks
Mercedes-Benz U.S. International is seeking an intern to support automotive electronic engineering activities at its Tuscaloosa, Alabama operations. The role interfaces with MBUSI, R&D, and suppliers to support series carlines and production ramp-up while ensuring supplier readiness and parts maturity.
- Support project milestones, change management, packaging, and problem analysis.
- Analyze developmental E/E issues and establish short- and long-term countermeasures with cross-functional alignment.
- Prepare new carline, model year, and facelift launches by checking software and hardware documentation and availability and aligning corrective actions.
- Support E/E change management for software and wiring harnesses.
- Participate in plant internal cross-functional alignment meetings for E/E topics.
- Support Quality Operations and Service & Parts by investigating malfunctions and solving problems.
- Document project work in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Currently studying Electrical Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fluent in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of vehicle electronics and networks or buses including CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Ethernet.
- Production experience preferred.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled at a university or in a gap year between a bachelor's and master's degree.
- Studies outside the United States; applications from students currently studying in the United States are not accepted.
- At least three semesters of study in a relevant field.
- Available for a minimum of six months.
