Your Role

You will support the development of Human Machine Interface (HMI) solutions for Mercedes-Benz charging systems, focusing primarily on charging products in the North American market. Working with product managers, engineers, and international stakeholders, you will transform customer needs and technical requirements into intuitive digital experiences.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design UX/UI solutions for global charging products, with a primary focus on NAFTA.
  • Create user journeys, interaction concepts, screen flows, wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs.
  • Design experiences across charging, payment, connectivity, and digital services.
  • Support implementation and validation activities on charging hardware and software platforms.
  • Collaborate with development teams and external partners.
  • Analyze and optimize technical requirements, workflows, and system interactions.
  • Support usability testing, prototype evaluations, and customer feedback sessions.
  • Apply customer feedback, usability findings, behavioral data, and system performance indicators to product decisions.
  • Organize and facilitate workshops with Product Management, UX, Engineering, and external partners.
  • Explore charging experiences for future software-defined vehicle ecosystems, including intelligent interfaces, connected services, digital assistants, and data-driven customer journeys.
  • Stay current with UX, frontend development, HMI technologies, AI-supported workflows, and emerging digital mobility trends.

Qualifications

  • Student in Interaction Design, UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Media Informatics, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a comparable field.
  • Strong interest in designing and building customer-facing digital products.
  • Understanding of user-centered design principles and usability methodologies.
  • Experience with Figma or similar UX/UI tools is required.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or comparable frontend frameworks is beneficial.
  • Interest in electric mobility, charging systems, connected services, and software-defined vehicles.
