Mercedes-Benz AGMercedes-Benz Plant Sindelfingen, Sindelfingen (Hybrid)
Tasks
Our department, Mercedes Intelligent Cloud and Rising Stars Development, is responsible for the conception, continuous further development, and worldwide operation of the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) Core Cloud environment for connecting vehicles and customers, and for providing digital extras and services.
Current projects include MB.OS Vehicle and Customer Management, the further development of the Vehicle Data Pipeline, and a variety of Application & Developer Services, with the goal of creating a best-in-class Cloud Platform for developers and customers.
As a department, we have a strong passion for technology and software. Within the teams, we set different technical priorities, always with the aim of providing our internal and external customers with the best possible platform for the provision, operation, and use of connected features.
This internship project focuses on designing and implementing an AI-powered chat agent for the MB.OS Portal at Mercedes-Benz. MB.OS is the standardized software platform for the next generation of Mercedes-Benz vehicles and connects cloud services, in-vehicle software, and IoT systems across four core domains: Powertrain, Autonomous Driving, Infotainment, and Body & Comfort Systems.
Within this ecosystem, the MB.OS Portal serves as a central entry point to accelerate delivery, with the ambition to enable a working prototype in 24 hours and production readiness within three months. The project scope centers on the Remote Commands developer journey, including the specification, configuration, testing, and rollout of remote vehicle commands such as door lock/unlock, preconditioning, and charge settings control.
- Design and implement an AI chat agent for the MB.OS Portal’s Remote Commands developer journey
- Enable natural-language queries, status overviews, and guidance through system information
- Support change requests for configuration updates, reducing cross-functional friction
- Build with Node.js, integrating with the portal’s Vue.js, Angular, and Fastify components
- Consume language models via the Mercedes-Benz Model Garden (GenAI Nexus)
- Design for future integration into an overarching MB.OS chatbot via agent-to-agent communication (A2A)
