Job Description
As an Infrastructure Support Escalation Engineer – Tier 3, you will be a key technical authority within the Collaboration Technology Group, ensuring the availability, stability, and performance of enterprise-grade cloud and data center infrastructure in a global 24x7 environment.
In this role you will play a key role in:
- Ensuring 24/7 availability of the production environment, leading daily operations and serving as the first point of escalation for priority incidents and changes, driving issues through to resolution within agreed SLAs.
- Owning root cause analysis for major incidents, developing and authorising Methods of Procedure documents, and providing advanced troubleshooting across network, compute, storage, and virtualisation platforms.
- Collaborating with design and engineering teams to align infrastructure implementation with product and project requirements and contributing to continuous improvement and process optimisation.
- Participating in Change Advisory Board review meetings and engaging internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure solutions are fit for purpose.
- Providing technical mentorship and systems training to peers, sharing knowledge across the team, and demonstrating technical leadership in troubleshooting video, web conference, and chat environments.
Your Profile
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in data centre and network environments, ideally within a NOC or TAC, with hands-on expertise in VMware, Cisco UCS, Nexus devices, and HyperFlex solutions.
- Deep technical knowledge of data centre networking technologies, including VXLAN, BGP EVPN, ACI, VPC, STP, HSRP, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP, plus VMware vSphere and container environments.
- Proven ability to manage and resolve complex incidents and problems in a fast-paced global environment, with understanding of ITIL Event, Incident, Change, Service Request, and Problem Management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including confidence engaging executive-level stakeholders, leading technical discussions, and delivering customer experiences in a multinational setting.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience. CCIE Data Center or CCIE Routing & Switching certification, plus scripting and automation experience with Python or Ansible, are advantageous.
