HW Solution and Portfolio Architect

Objective

Responsible for and drive the hardware solution and portfolio strategy for IVI, ADAS and car computer by transforming fragmented technical topics into a structured, standardized and decision-ready portfolio. Act as the bridge between technical solution definition and management decision-making, ensuring that hardware topics are technically sound, prioritized, aligned and strategically selected across programs.

Tasks

1. HW Solution Portfolio Ownership
   • Own the end-to-end HW solution portfolio across China IVI, ADAS and car computer topics.
   • Consolidate fragmented topics into a structured and transparent portfolio.
   • Ensure visibility of priorities, dependencies and status.
2. Solution Structuring & Packaging
   • Develop standardized solution packages with multiple solution options, trade-off analysis covering cost, performance, timing and risk, and clear recommendations.
   • Consider cross-carline and cross-generation requirements.
   • Transform engineering discussions into decision-ready outputs.
3. Portfolio Management & Governance
   • Manage portfolio prioritization, versioning and roadmap alignment.
   • Drive regular portfolio reviews and management reporting.
4. Decision Enablement & Management Alignment
   • Prepare and deliver decision packages to management.
   • Drive alignment across engineering, product and leadership.
   • Ensure decisions are structured, fact-based and timely.
5. Cross-functional Coordination
   • Coordinate across HW, SW, EE, Product, Innovation and suppliers.
   • Ensure consistency of solution direction across domains.

Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in electronics, electrical engineering, computer science or a similar field of study.

Fluent English and Chinese are mandatory; German language knowledge is an advantage.

Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of experience in automotive electronics, preferably in IVI, cockpit or domain controller projects. Proven experience in hardware or system architecture for complex ECUs, including SoC-based platforms such as Qualcomm or Nvidia. Experience across multiple projects or programs, solution comparison, technical trade-offs and cross-project alignment is required.

• Ability to structure complex technical topics and communicate them clearly and logically.
• Stakeholder coordination across HW, SW, EE, Product and suppliers.
• Supplier collaboration with Tier 1 suppliers and chipset vendors.
• Experience in portfolio management, platform definition or roadmap planning.
• Track record preparing management decision materials, including solution comparisons, trade-off analyses and recommendations.
• Technical leadership without direct authority.
• Exposure to China localization projects and global collaboration setups.
• Experience driving technology evaluation, proof-of-concept or innovation topics.
