Head of Tech Infrastructure & Operations Hub

At the Jawor site, part of the new generation of vehicles from the VAN.EA battery-electric platform and the VAN.CA combustion-engine platform is planned to be assembled. The plant is being developed in close cooperation with the established powertrain plant in Jawor and combines a greenfield setup with the use of the existing site.

Within Enterprise Technology, PT/TEGO Global Operations is responsible for reliable, secure, resilient and efficient technology operations across the production ecosystem. To strengthen centrally driven infrastructure capabilities and support the Tech Target Operating Model 2030, we are establishing a Tech Infrastructure Competence Center / Hub in Jawor.

The Jawor Hub will consolidate expert capabilities and provide standardized, scalable and transparent support for MBMPL operations, Mercedes-Benz Vans and Cars plants, the Business Accelerator organization and the wider production network.

Key responsibilities

In this L4 leadership role, you will establish and lead the Tech Infrastructure & Operations Competence Center / Hub in Jawor. You will be the accountable leader for a scalable team targeted to grow to up to 10 FTE.

Tasks: General

• Provide disciplinary leadership for the Tech Infrastructure & Operations team, including task, performance and HR management.
• Build, motivate, develop and qualify the Jawor Hub team through clear objectives, development plans, feedback and capability building.
• Establish governance, routines, interfaces and collaboration models across relevant organizations.
• Ensure convergence toward Mercedes-Benz standard solutions, processes, methods, tooling and reporting.
• Support strategic initiatives, especially the Tech Target Operating Model 2030.
• Ensure compliant collaboration with internal stakeholders, strategic suppliers and external service partners.
• Act as the bridge between central standards and local needs.
• Represent the Jawor Hub in relevant governance bodies.

Tech Infrastructure & Operations Hub capability

• Ramp up the Jawor Tech Infrastructure Hub, including recruiting, onboarding, qualification and standardized service delivery.
• Lead the capability setup for Site Reliability Engineering in Data Centre and Network domains.
• Establish infrastructure project management capability for VAN.xA infrastructure topics.
• Establish performance management with service KPIs, reporting, incident tracking and trend analysis.
• Coordinate major infrastructure incidents and escalations across locations.
• Manage suppliers, service quality, SLA/KPI performance and improvement measures.
• Establish demand intake, assessment and prioritization processes.
• Ensure transparent budget steering and support cost optimization.
• Coordinate governance and cross-functional infrastructure topics, including vulnerability-related activities and compliance follow-up.
• Support license and hardware procurement within the assigned scope.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation and harmonized processes.
• Ensure complete operational documentation, knowledge management and sustainable capability retention.

Qualifications

• Completed studies in computer science, information technology, telecommunications, engineering, business administration, industrial engineering or a comparable qualification.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure and operations, including data centre, network, workplace, cloud or hybrid services, cybersecurity interfaces and industrial technology environments.
• Good command of IT service management practices, preferably ITIL.
• Strong understanding of service governance, supplier management, KPI systems, budget steering and operational excellence.
• Knowledge of project and program management methods, agile approaches and complex infrastructure or transformation initiatives.
• Ability to translate strategic priorities into organizational structures, measurable targets and executable plans.
• Knowledge of infrastructure technologies, architectures and operational risks.

Experience

• Several years of leadership experience, ideally in an international, cross-functional and matrix-based environment.
• Experience building and scaling teams and establishing governance, standards and performance transparency.
• Broad experience in technology infrastructure and operations within a production-critical, manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience leading internal and external service delivery organizations and strategic suppliers.
• Experience in major incident management, operational risk management and service improvement.
• Strong stakeholder management experience.
• Experience in budget management, resource planning, demand prioritization and KPI-based performance steering.
